Justin Brown is a best-selling author, television producer, music writer, podcast host, and radio presenter. He is best known for his works in non-fiction, humour, travel, and children's fiction. Justin wrote travel articles for the New Zealand Listener magazine before coming up with the idea for his first non-fiction book (Random House) UK on a G-String. Travel books In Search of Swingers and Bowling Through India followed. He has published 33 books. Bowling Through India and Kiwi Speak achieved bestseller status in a single year and in 2012 he won a Notable Book Award for his junior novel Shot Boom Score! At a Storylines Children's Book event in Auckland Justin double-parked his car and ran inside knowing that one of New Zealand's most prolific and successful writers of children's books Joy Cowley was on a break in her talk. He introduced himself and asked if she might become his writing mentor. She agreed to see his work and the two became great friends. They both wrote the Signature Series for kids and Joy was instrumental in the development of Brown’s novels for children. Revered as both a popular radio host and a narrative fiction & travel writer, Justin’s depth & breadth of experience informs every element of his work and creative life. He lives beneath a volcano in New Zealand with his wife, two daughters and their scruffy dog.
