I had been writing non-fiction for almost forty years--articles ranging from sports to medicine to travel. I've also held jobs in hospital and academic administration, as well as pharmaceuticals. My most recent long-term position was as a summer camp Transportation Director. Although each of these jobs was challenging in its own way, I never found my true passion until I sat down at a mah jongg table. I have always been good at making order out of chaos (well, intellectually, anyway--I'm not much of a housekeeper). Mah jongg was the perfect game for me, with each hand a new puzzle to solve. I am glad that hundreds of mah jongg players, all over the US, have found my first book. Bubbe's wisdom has spread all over the US and Canada! In response, I've started writing fiction: Mah Jongg Table Talk Tales. Small World is the first in what I hope are many continuing adventures of Talia Klein Welt and her friends!
