As a stay-at-home mom for twenty-five years, Kim has been too preoccupied finding Lego pieces, reading bedtime stories, cheering at sporting events, and editing essays with her high school kids to do much of her own writing. Having developed the organization and disaster-management skills necessary to run a household of seven, she now finds herself in forced retirement from full-time motherhood as the kids leave home and begin thriving as adults. In this new stage, Kim is finally beginning to write the stories life has given her. Kim has a bachelor’s degree in English–which her kids tease helped her become fluent in her native language–and teaches the violin. She and her husband live in the Inland Northwest, have five children and two grandchildren, and love to waterski, snow-ski, and travel. Kim also enjoys all sports, reading, hiking, playing the violin and piano, and serving in her community.
