关于作者

Born in Kentucky I came north in 1981 for a summer job. For most of the last three decades I have lived on Kodiak Island in a remote bay. After going to Nome as a tourist in 1997 I fell in love with the Iditarod and eventually started working with sled dogs. David and I bought property just outside Denali Park and now commute between two of the most beautiful places on earth - Kodiak Island and Interior Alaska. I now give tours during the summer months in Denali. I love sharing the history of this great land and am grateful I get a chance to inspire others to help preserve it. There are 4 wonderful sled dogs in our house. Lassen, who has blessed me for 13 years including one eventful Iditarod, Dickens and Bronte, who were on my team when we did the Serum Run in 2004 (and they went on to win the 2006 Iditarod) and Vincent - my pup - my love. Eat salmon. Love dogs. Preserve the wild places on this earth. I don't know much, but I know these things.
