Robert Stringham is a highly experienced heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC) instructor and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in education and nearly 40 in the industry. In addition, he is a certified educator who obtained his contractor's license before turning 21 years old and holds an Associate in Applied Science degree in Air Conditioning from Northern Virginia Community College. Stringham has extensive experience instructing technicians and students in operating and maintaining various HVAC equipment. He has also received awards for incorporating technology into instruction. His competency areas include education, communication, supervision, management, technical skills, and leadership. Stringham has served as Virginia state president of SkillsUSA (formerly VICA), where he spoke publicly at state conferences with an attendance of over 2500, numerous high schools across the Commonwealth, and has led teacher-student workshops, leadership seminars, and school assemblies. He has also been appointed to represent the Virginia Governor's Task Force for the Construction Industry. Stringham has facilitated the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration program at Edison Academy in Alexandria, Virginia, to obtain national accreditation multiple times. He has also supervised technicians in the field and students in the classroom installing, repairing, and servicing HVAC systems and certified thousands in EPA 608 and OSHA 10 Construction Safety. Stringham has been a lead mentor for Fairfax County Public Schools – Office of Staff Development, State Officer Trainer with SkillsUSA Virginia, and has overseen daily business operations that included managing contracts, dispatching service calls, and maintaining accounts payable and receivable with various business and has served on the board of directors for several organizations. Stringham has received numerous awards and honors, including the SkillsUSA Virginia Hall of Honor, Creating Excellence Teacher of the Year, Virginia Association of Trade & Industrial Educators Teacher of the Year, and Infusing Technology Teacher of the Year, in addition. He was a nominee for the Governor's Exemplary Career & Technical Education Program. He is the author of the CTE Basics and HVAC Basics book series with a YouTube channel devoted to instructing new technicians on mastering basic practices in the HVAC trade on @edisonhvac and created an application R-Log for refrigerant management available on the Apple App store. Mr. Stringham was or is an active member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES), SkillsUSA, Council for Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Educators, Air Conditioning Contractors of America, Virginia Association for Career and Technical Educators and Virginia Association for Trade and Industrial Educators.
