Roger Maxim is a U.S. Navy veteran who has been fascinated by the history of World War II since hearing his father's war stories as a child. During his own military service, visiting such important historic sites as Pearl Harbor, Guam, the Philippines, and Japan further inflamed his interest. Roger comments, "During our first port call at Pearl Harbor, my ship was anchored within sight of the Arizona Memorial. I found myself sitting topside one balmy Sunday morning imagining what that attack must have been like; that really brought the history home for me!" Many of Roger's stories involve aviation. When asked why, Roger fondly recalls his earliest memories of looking up in the sky and watching an airplane magically pass over. "I've loved airplanes and flying ever since!" When asked why he writes, Roger explains: "I have two main goals with my stories: First, to provide entertainment for my readers and second, to teach my readers the rich history and historic details of that formative time.” Join Roger's Email Newsletter!
