William Abranowicz has been a photographer for more than 40 years. His photographs include images of domestic life, the environment, and voting rights. His work is found in collections throughout the world including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The National Portrait Gallery in London, Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris, The Smithsonian Institute, and The Getty. His work has appeared in nearly every major publication in the United States, Europe, and Asia. He is a regular contributor to Architectural Digest, Elle Decor and Travel and Leisure. He served as a contributing photographer to Condé Nast Traveler for 25 years, and has created campaigns American Express Platinum Card, Rolex, Tiffany&Co., Ralph Lauren, Estée Lauder, Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, Gold Peak, Eddie Bauer, Orvis, and Target. Abranowicz is a master printer who has worked with the negatives of Edward Steichen, George Hoyningen-Huene, and Michael Disfarmer, as well as Horst and George Tice both of whom he assisted as a young man. He was a member of the faculty of Parsons School of Design and The New School, and was an artist-in-residence at Peters Valley in Layton, New Jersey. He has published six monographs of his work and is the co-author of a dozen more. His newest book, Country Life / Homes of The Catskill Mountains and Hudson River Valley, will be published by The Vendome Press in August / 2023. Along with his son and daughter, Abranowicz is a licensed falconer. He is an avid environmentalist engaged in water, land, and climate issues nationally and locally. Abranowicz lives in Bedford, New York with his wife, Andrea Raisfeld, a location agent. He is represented by Art + Commerce.
