Dr. McMahon is a clinical psychologist specializing in helping people overcome anxiety issues such as anxiety or panic attacks, fears, phobias, etc. She has been treating anxiety for over 40 years and using virtual reality (VR) to make treatment easier and more engaging since 2010. As an industry thought leader, Dr. McMahon trains and mentors therapists in the therapeutic uses of virtual reality. This includes continuing education courses via ABCT, ADAA, APA, CPA, PESI, etc. She also speaks on topics like: how virtual reality is changing anxiety treatment, psychological first aid for first responders, increasing happiness, preventing burnout for medical professionals, etc. Dr. McMahon received her PhD in psychology from Case Western Reserve University. She worked at Kaiser Permanente in Fremont California doing individual and group therapy for over 30 years before starting a private practice in San Francisco.
