Chicago children's author Kate Hannigan writes fiction and nonfiction for young readers. The author of several award-winning titles for kindergarten through middle-school students, Kate is a former newspaper journalist who loves listening to people's stories and digging deep into research. Her books have been optioned for film, named to state recommended reading lists, and received other honors. Kate visits classrooms around the country to talk about how curiosity, reading, and research help us become better writers.
