In 2006, Cheryl wrote the very first Orton-Gillingham program that can be done at home with no training. Finally, using this affordable program, teachers, tutors and even parents could help their dyslexic students. In 2012, Cheryl formed Reading Specialists of Long Island, where, with the help and input of many reading specialists and students, Cheryl was able to create additional reading programs for different age groups. In 2016, after working with many dyslexic students, Cheryl could see the benefit of applying educational apps to the reading lessons. She went on to create her own phonics games and teaching tools that made the sessions with her students more enjoyable and effective. Today, Cheryl continues to create books and software to help educators teach at home, in the classroom with a Smart Board, or remotely.
