Emily Krieger

Emily Krieger is an award-winning writer, editor, and fact-checker specializing in children's content and science. She has investigated Bigfoot and George Washington's dentures for the National Geographic Kids Myths Busted! series, for which she received the 2014 Children's Choice Fifth/Sixth Grade Book of the Year Award. She's also pondered alien and ancient life while editing Science News for Students; amassed amazing tidbits about bugs, birds, and brains for NG Kids 5,000 Awesome Facts (About Everything!); and made up ridiculous short stories for three NG Kids Funny Fill-In books. Her other endeavors have included fact-checking feature articles and departments for National Geographic magazine, fact-checking competition questions for the National Geographic Bee, and editing Science News. Emily was born and raised in the South and moved to Seattle, Wash., in 2000. She has been enjoying the Pacific Northwest's delightfully kooky norms ever since.
