Natalia Mehlman Petrzela is Associate Professor of History at The New School in New York City. She is the author of Fit Nation: The Gains and Pains of America's Exercise Obsession (2023) and Classroom Wars: Language, Sex, and the Creation of Modern Political Culture (Oxford University Press, 2015) and her writing has appeared in various scholarly journals and popular media such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Slate.
