Chris Rice, songwriter, painter, and poet, is known worldwide mostly for his thoughtful and witty song lyrics (having recorded 12 albums and as many Top Ten radio hits--11 of them reaching #1). Recognizable hits include pop love songs "When Did You Fall (In Love With Me)" and "Lemonade", as well as the modern-classic Christmas carol "Welcome To Our World." For more creative outlet, Chris also applies his acclaimed word skills to POETRY and FICTION. His poems similarly tackle (both lightheartedly and unabashedly) honest themes of nature, the cosmos, time, faith and doubt, memory, childhood and aging, and the very power of words themselves. Growing up the son of bookstore owners in the Maryland suburbs of Washington D.C. and his fascination with Communication and Psychology (which led to his undergraduate degree in those fields) gives his writing an appealing balance of inward depth and commonplace observation. His residence and art studio boast their proximity to the finest coffee shops and burger joints in Tennessee, where he continues to write and paint.
