Jackie Wang is a scholar, poet, library rat, trauma monster, harpist, multimedia artist, and Assistant Professor of Culture and Media Studies at The New School. She is the author of the essay collection Carceral Capitalism, the poetry collection The Sunflower Cast a Spell to Save Us from the Void, and the chapbooks Tiny Spelunker of the Oneiro-Womb and The Twitter Hive Mind Is Dreaming. When not writing poetry she researches race, surveillance technology, and the political economy of prisons and police. She holds a PhD in African and African American Studies from Harvard University and a BA from New College of Florida.
