Nick Slater

Nick Slater is a young professional, here to see that Look Out Above! speaks to you. Nick earned a law degree, practiced for a bit (it didn’t take!) and is now an entrepreneur and investor seeking to make it in the business world. Nick is a borderline Millennial – young enough to be on Instagram but old enough to have suffered the indignity of attending high school without a cell phone. An attorney/entrepreneur/writer, Nick was inspired to participate in this book project after witnessing many of his talented, success-driven friends struggle to find their “professional place” following a devastating recession. As a young professional, Nick is well positioned to speak to the many challenges faced by the target audience of Look Out Above! After all, he’s experienced those challenges first-hand. Nick is a graduate of the University of Georgia and holds a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is an avid tennis player and outdoorsman, and currently lives in London, England with his fiancé Stephanie and their bulldogs, Bill and Frank. Nick is currently reading: Range: Why Generalists Triumph in a Specialized World (David Epstein) and Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup (John Carreyrou). Nick’s all-time favorites: A Confederacy of Dunces (John Kennedy Toole), On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft (Stephen King), and The Odyssey (Homer).
