Caroline Akselson and Alexandra Bruce are the founders of Selkie Patterns, a London based sewing start up. Selkie Patterns sells dressmaking patterns, lifestyle patterns and textiles, designed in house. The company has received the Eco-Age Brandmark for its efforts in sustainability. Both authors have a background in costume, making and designing costumes for the West End, operas and ballets. Caroline teaches costume at the University of the Arts and Alexandra teaches kids crafts and sewing classes.
