Alex Pole

I have always had a fascination with metals. From sitting with my mum watching her make jewellery as a four-year-old, to casting lead soldiers in my pre-teens, i have always been drawn to this material. Having worked and travelled as a blacksmith for many years I established Alex Pole Ironwork in 2006, which became known for its production of high-quality functional pieces for the home and garden. My work has slowly evolved over the years to specialise in hand forged kitchenware and utensils as well as axes and chef knives - so The Forge Kitchenware brand was established in 2015. When not forging I can be found either cooking outside or sitting in the bath, reading sci-fi and enjoying a glass wine!
