Whitney Depaoli

Whitney DePaoli is the writer, photographer, and cake artist behind Sugar & Sparrow, a popular baking blog that focuses on approachable cake recipes and tutorials for people of all skill levels. Her baking fascination began at a young age, inspired by her mother’s lemon squares and casserole dish sheet cakes. Self-taught every step of the way, her curiosity in the kitchen led her to a passion for cake decorating, and she went on to spend many years running a custom cake business. She now spends her time teaching others the things she continues to learn via her website, social channels, and online Cake Basics video series. Her recipes and photography have been featured in countless web and print publications, including The Food Network, Buzzfeed’s Tasty, Wilton, The FeedFeed, and American Cake Decorating Magazine.
