I am an avid baker who started baking from home selling at farmers' markets as a hobby. I created a blog that chronicled by journey from 2007 through 2017. The journey has been crazy and when I started only 7 states has cottage food laws. Today, all 50 states in the U.S. have some sort of cottage food laws. I no longer sell my famous pies from my Charlotte Pie Authority Pie Shop in Charlotte, NC, but I do share my knowledge and insights about how to be successful in the cottage food industry. Today I am a Digital Strategy Consultant for The Business Hive and my goal is to help brands reach their business goals by understanding what customers need. I work with teams to find new ideas, using both creative and logical thinking. How to Start a Home-based Bakery Business was used as the text book for a course I created and taught for Wake County Public Schools Adult Education Program and the Central Piedmont Communication College Small Business Development Program. I mix creativity, good communication, and industry knowledge to help business owners solve problems in digital marketing, customer relations, and technology. I love helping small and medium-sized businesses reach their full potential! I give personalized digital strategy advice to help owners make smart decisions about their online presence. I currently work with all small and medium-sized businesses not in the baking industry.
