关于作者

Bruce McCord is a passionate gardener and the author of Basic Soil Science for Successful Vegetable Gardening. Through years of research and testing the science on his own garden, Bruce has developed a sharp understanding of the difference that soil composition makes to the productivity and health of a garden. Determined to make this information more accessible to the everyday gardener, he has focused his writing on making soil science relatable to beginners. Bruce has always been a keen gardener, beginning his journey on his grandmother’s vegetable plot as a child. As he got older and began to work on his own land, he realized that the magic his grandmother created had much more science behind it than he’d ever understood. He turned his attention to soil science, reading and researching everything he could get his hands on and applying the theory to his vegetable patch. Through years of trial and error and extensive reading, he has come to understand the winning formula for a flourishing garden. Bruce works in aircraft maintenance, and gardening has always been his way to relax and escape from the worries of daily life. He remembers his early gardening attempts and the frustrations that came with them and is determined to help other gardeners sidestep that frustration so they can benefit from the relaxing and healing qualities of gardening. Bruce has been married for 16 years, and he and his wife love spending time together in their garden. They have a passion for rescuing blind diabetic dogs and share their lives with a small pack of special animals. He also enjoys the theater and has a particular love of Broadway musicals.
