Julie Kay Thompson is from Winter Park, Florida. She is a wife, mom, nana, teacher, and dog lover. She seeks to find beauty in the ordinary moments. Storytime with her family, and her students, has always been a favorite part of her day. Other favorites include gardening, collecting sea glass on beach walks, swimming in the blue waters of the islands, and gazing at sunset skies. "My journey as a children's author began with a story inspired by a real event involving my father (as a young boy), my grandmother, and a rescued bird. As I wrote the manuscript, my creativity flourished, and what began as recording a legacy story has inspired ideas for more books to come. I set out to write books that not only entertain children but also teach them important life lessons."
