Shelley Gill is an environmental activist, author and adventurer who has lived in Alaska 43 years. Through her true stories about racing in the Iditarod, (Kiana's Iditarod, Alaska's Dog Heroes, Danger the Dogyard Cat) her research and swimming with blue and humpback whales, (Big Blue, If I Were a Whale) )riding with the vaquero, climbing in ancient temperate rain forests (Tongass-the Last American Rainforest) and sailing to Antarctic she inspires kids to dream big. She comes from a fishing family (Swimmer) but has also lived in the Bush (Denali-America's Highest Peak) and loves the wild lands of Alaska (If I were a Bear, If I were a Bird, Gabe, Alaska's Three Bears, Thunderfeet, Sitka Rose, Prickly Rose) Gill visits schools all over the world and has spoken to more than 2 million students.
