My most recent book is a memoir: Gershwin, the Beatles, and Peg. It is available as a Kindle book and can be found at: https://www.amazon.com/Gershwin-Beatles-Peg-Walter-Rimler-ebook/dp/B09RW6KG11/ref=sr_1_2?crid=38XXVQXSSHO7Q&keywords=walter+rimler&qid=1658593832&sprefix=%2Caps%2C155&sr=8-2 My biography of composer Harold Arlen (1905-1986) was published in 2015 by the University of Illinois Press. Arlen's music, to quote Bob Dylan, expressed his "lonely intense world." He lived with dignity against a backdrop of tragedy as he composed music for many of our greatest and best-loved songs, including "Over the Rainbow," "Stormy Weather," and the one that gives the book its title: The Man That Got Away: The Life and Songs of Harold Arlen. In 2009 the University of Illinois published my book, George Gershwin: An Intimate Portrait. I am also a composer. An example of my music, "The White Rabbit" from The Wonderland Suite For Orchestra, can be heard here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO7iH7uRbdE I can be reached at wlr2@comcast.net
