Mike Towle is a Vermont native and University of Notre Dame graduate who has been writing about sports since he was a high school sophomore stringing for the St. Albans (Vt.) Messenger and Vermont Sunday News. A former sportswriter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and The National, and a former assistant sports editor with the Nashville Tennessean, Towle has authored more than 15 books, including works on the likes of Pat Tillman, Ben Hogan, Walter Payton, Pete Rose, Bud Wilkinson, Ara Parseghian, Roger Staubach and Vince Lombardi. A former U.S. Army officer as well, Towle now lives with his wife and son in Hendersonville, Tennessee, just outside Nashville, where he writes, edits and works as a self-publishing consultant with authors.
