Stephen Kiesling

Stephen Kiesling grew up in Los Altos, California, with a Zen priest in the basement and the Parapsychology Research Group in the living room. At Yale he became an Olympic oarsman and wrote a classic book on the philosophy of sport called The Shell Game. Moving to New York, he helped launched the ASME Award-winning magazine American Health, the Nike Cross Training System, and wrote for the New Yorker and Sports Illustrated. He then spent a year aboard the 1717 pirate ship Whydah and ended up Walking the Plank. Kiesling then moved to Oregon and helped launch Spirituality & Health, which won FOLIO awards as the best magazine in religion and spirituality. He now lives on the Rogue River and is writing No Risk of Enlightenment.
