Writer/performer Frank DeCaro is the author of "Drag: Combing Through the Big Wigs of Show Business," "Unmistakably Mackie: The Fashion and Fantasy of Bob Mackie," "The Dead Celebrity Cookbook" and its follow-up "Christmas in Tinseltown," the pioneering LGBTQIA memoir "A Boy Named Phyllis," and the forthcoming pop culture history "Disco: Music, Movies, and Mania Under the Mirror Ball." He is best known for his 12 years as the host of the daily national radio program "The Frank DeCaro Show" on Sirius XM, and his six-year stint as the movie critic on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" on Comedy Central. He also spent four years playing large venues across North America as the opening act for the hilarious Lisa Lampanelli. DeCaro contributes regularly to Emmy magazine and occasionally to the Styles section of The New York Times. Formerly, he was a columnist at the Times and also at Spy magazine. His work has appeared in a myriad of magazines including Newsweek, Vogue, Out, The Advocate, and The New York Times Magazine. He is a graduate of Northwestern University and married to Jim Colucci, the New York Times bestselling author of "Golden Girls Forever." The couple and their dog Penelope are bicoastal.
