Michael A. Armstrong

Michael A. Armstrong was born in Virginia, raised in Florida, and has lived in Alaska since 1979. He attended the Clarion Science Fiction Writers Workshop at Justin Morrill College, Michigan State University, and graduated with a bachelor of arts in humanities from New College of Florida. He received a master of fine arts in writing from the University of Alaska Anchorage; his master's thesis, PRAK, was published by Warner Books/Questar as After the Zap. It was a finalist for the Compton Crook first novel award. Armstrong has published in The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Asimov's, and Analog, as well as numerous anthologies. A writer in the Janet Morris Heroes In Hell series, he most recently was published in Lawyers in Hell. He now lives in Homer, Alaska, and is an award winning reporter for the Homer News. His monthly column won the Morris Communications Excellence in Journalism Award for commentary in 2008, 2009, and 2010. Armstrong lives with his wife Jenny in the hills above Homer.
