Now retired from over 50 years in higher education as a professor, exchange professor, dean and volunteer Sierra Club guide for the Denver area, Richard F. Fleck has begun the process of writing a series of memoirs including two Amazon Kindle Books, Life above 7000 Feet in Wyoming: Shifting Tectonic Memory Plates and Singing to the Rising Sun: A Year in Japan and More. His most recent collection of essays "From Iceland to Alaska: Observations on Tribal Cultures and the Land" is available as an online book at the Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods.He is currently a member of the Colorado Authors' League. The author is married with three children and seven grandchildren who all accompanied him on a tundra and treeline hike recently in Colorado.
