Gary has authored 35 books since 1992, covering a diverse range of software, from Adobe Photoshop, to corelDRAW, Xara Designer , modeling programs, designing for HTML, video editing and probably others. The common thread among these diverse studies is a common thread: how does today's individual express themselves artistically? The author has been illustrating professionally for over almost years. Mr. Bouton makes a point to share with readers not simply what a graphics application's tools do, but more importantly how they can be used to produce whatever is on the reader's mind. It’s the difference between stating a fact, and applied learning. In addition to his books, Gary has a playlist on YouTube¹ of video tutorials that show how a Xara Designer user can create unexpectedly marvelous work using his book as a Guide…and the monthly tutorials as a little something extra, with the additional details, a conversational tone, along with animated instruction steps that videos bring to education. Gary is an active practitioner of what he teaches through his books. His illustrates for a number of publications and corporation. Additionally, the author works with video producers creating CGI and other post effects for music videos. Gary fell in love with animation in the late 1990s and the fascination has stuck.
