“Brainlash: Maximize Your Recovery from Mild Traumatic Brain Injury” was initially written by Gail L. Denton, PhD., as a personal recovery journal of her experiments and discoveries while managing her own MTBI recovery. A very successful psychotherapist in private practice at the time of her injuries, as well as a high altitude mountaineer-ski patroller-canoeist-weight-trainer and all around active person, she saw the need to transform her findings into a guidebook of recovery for others as well.
She currently offers Life Coaching sessions through her Brainlash website, continuing the work she began with the book, crafting and strategizing the lifestyle choices that ease sensory overwhelm, and creating a support plan unique to the community of the MTBI person.
“Brainlash”, now in its 3rd Edition and still meeting the needs of the MTBI community some 20 years after its initial printing, supports and explains the ins and outs of MTBI recovery.
Currently in semi-retirement and enjoying a lifestyle that travel and plein air oil painting provide, she can be found exploring from the desert Southwest to the northern reaches of Alaska! Enjoying both flat water canoe camping on the Colorado River and kayaking on the salt waters of the Pacific Coast, the healing power of the natural world is reflected in her paintings and textile endeavors. Oh, and Alaska salmon fishing is her special delight.
