Harry Heckel always wanted to inspire others through writing. His first published works were roleplaying games, including supplements for Vampire: The Masquerade, Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Mage: The Ascension, the Star Wars Roleplaying game and Last Unicorn's Star Trek Roleplaying.
His first novel, co-authored by Jeff Smith under the penname Lee Lightner, was Sons of Fenris by Black Library, set in the grim darkness of the Warhammer 40K universe. He wrote a second novel as Lee Lighter, Wolf's Honour, and both novels are available in the compendium Space Wolf Omnibus, Vol. 2.
Currently, he is half of the writing team of Jack Heckel, along with his co-author, John Peck. They have written The Charming Tales, a comedic fractured fairytale series for ages 10 to 100, which includes the books, A Fairy-Tale Ending and The Pitchfork of Destiny. Jack Heckel's newest series is the Mysterium series which parodies epic fantasy and fantasy roleplaying. Their first book, The Dark Lord, hit #1 on Kindle in Epic Fantasy, and the second and third books in the series, The Darker Lord and The Darkest Lord will be published by Harper Voyager Impulse in 2018. Additionally, Jack Heckel contributed a novella to A Very Faerie Christmas, released on November 6, 2017.
Harry wargames, roleplays and still reads comic books. He enjoys helping other writers and currently lives in Mechanicsville, VA.
