关于作者

Wendy Palmer is the founder of Leadership Embodiment, a sixth degree black belt in aikido, and senior instructor at Aikido of Tamalpais. She has practiced Aikido and Mindfulness over 40 years. My Background: I have been practicing Aikido and mindfulness since 1971. In 1980 I began developing Leadership Embodiment as a tool to bring the principles from Aikido and mindfulness to those who wish respond to stress and pressure with greater compassion, confidence and integrity. Aikido is a non-violent Japanese martial art, the practice incorporates the philosophy of "extending love and compassion especially to those who seek to harm others." As Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love with out power is sentimental and anemic." Leadership Embodiment evolved out of what I was experiencing in aikido practice and on my meditation cushion as a way of taking these tools "off the mat and into the world of everyday physical, emotional and psychological stresses. Leadership Embodiment works with three competencies that focus on developing greater capacity to work with stress and intensity. They are: being inclusive, listening for the the whole, and speaking up clearly without aggression or collapsing. Along with my partner Tiphani Palmer, we offer individual coaching and Coach Training to experienced coaches and facilitators who wish to learn to coach leaders in Leadership Presence. We work with organizations, groups and individuals the US, Canada, Europe and South Africa. We believe that people can live to their full potential and become more empowered and compassionate in order to meet the challenges that arise in our lives and our organizations with kindness, brilliance and dignity.
