Donald Griggs, was born in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1935 and moved to California in 1952. He graduated from San Francisco State University in 1957 and San Francisco Theological Seminary in 1960. He has served as a Presbyterian pastor and educator for 60 years during which time he was an associate pastor for three churches, a director of an ecumenical Teacher Learning Center, co-owner with wife, Patricia, of Griggs Educational Service, a professor of Christian education, and co-editor of Faith for Life Curriculum for mid-week ministry with children and youth. After his retirement, Rev. Dr. Griggs served as executive director of Pilgrims of Ibillin, a U.S. based non-profit organization supporting the Mar Elias Schools in Ibillin, Israel, where several thousand Christian and Muslim students are taught by Christian, Muslim, Druze, and Jewish teachers. Griggs was honored with Patricia as Co-educators of Year in 1993 by the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators and as Distinguish Alum of the Year in 1994 by San Francisco Theological Seminary.
