Camilla Ashforth spent much of her childhood abroad, before studying at the Central School of Art in London. Camilla is well known for her watercolours and books inspired by her collection of vintage toys and the idyllic British countryside. These are reflected in her exquisite and charming watercolour illustrations. Her first book, 'Horatio’s Bed', is about Horatio, a toy rabbit and his friend, a large bear called James. Their adventures continue with new characters in 'Monkey Tricks', (shortlisted for the 1993 British Book Awards Children's Book of the Year), 'Calamity' and 'Humphrey Thud'.
Capturing the true essence of the British seasonal adventures, the 'Willow' series is about a kind and gentle bear who lives on Paradise Farm at the foot of the Appleby Downs. In the enchanting tales of 'Willow on the River', 'Willow by the Seaside' and 'Willow at Christmas', follow the quintessential tales of summer days on the river, trips to the seaside and the magic of Christmas.
