Professor Hausman is an author and researcher (cyber terrorism, cyber crime, distance education and rapid prototyping), while also practicing information assurance and IT governance as an Assistant Commandant for Texas A&M University. Kirk's professional experience has focused on project management, enterprise architecture, IT governance, green IT practices, security and business continuity, information assurance and regulatory compliance with a background including digital forensics, WMD/wide-area disaster response planning, pandemic response planning, and technology audit practices in higher-education, corporate and healthcare venues. His technology experience includes application design, data resource management, network architecture, server and storage virtualization, strategic technology modernization, network and backup centralization, research computing, cloud computing, and large network BCP/DR planning. Kirk has served as a senior research scientist in the fields of cyber terrorism, cybercrime, and cyber security and he regularly lectures on uses of technology in education, solutions for persons with disabling conditions, network security, and strategic architectural planning to improve enterprise efficiencies. He has served as a subject matter expert before both Houses of the Texas State Legislature and has numerous books currently in print, together with professional publications, articles and white-papers addressing system interoperation, enterprise architecture, cyber terrorism and IT governance. Kirk's professional certifications include the CISSP, CGEIT, CRISC, CISA, CISM, PMP, CCNA, GIAC-GHSC together with other technology, project management, and regulatory-specific designations.
