Kim Taylor is a self-taught textile artist, Speech-Language Pathologist and administrator at a local school for the Deaf. Her acclaimed story quilts have been on exhibit at the African American Museum in Hempstead New York, a local Mayor’s office and many other venues. She has had several quilt exhibits throughout Long Island. Her debut children’s book, A Flag for Juneteenth, is based on one of her favorite story quilts. Growing up, Kim could always be found with a good book in hand. She appreciated stories that could feed her imagination and take her to far off lands. She still loves to read stories that have lots of adventure and feature creative, curious characters. When she’s not quilting, Kim can be found birdwatching, meditating, or gardening. Kim lives in New York with her beautiful daughter and very mischievous dog.
