I'm a writer and an award-winning teacher. My most recent book is "Language and Metadrama in Major Barbara and Pygmalion: Shavian Sisters" (Palgrave). In 2023 it was nominated for an award by the Society for Theatre Research. I hold a Ph.D. in English from the University of South Florida, and I'm the author of "Pygmalion's Wordplay," a postmodern study of George Bernard Shaw. In 2013 co-editor D. A. Hadfield and I published "Shaw and Feminisms: On Stage and Off." Both books about Shaw were published by the University Press of Florida. I've also published articles and reviews in the Shaw Journal, English Literature in Transition, and the Anglo-Welsh Review. I've written two writing textbooks and a college success textbook, and I co-authored a police communications manual ("Police Talk"), with Mary Mariani. I also co-authored "Report Writing for Code Enforcement Inspectors" with David Diamantes. Other books include "Criminal Justice Report Writing," "Five Minutes a Day," and "Gretel's Story: Finding the Way Home." I'm Professor Emerita at Polk State College in Florida. For three years I taught basic education at Polk Correctional Institution in Florida. I'm an avid ballroom and Latin dancer. I've been married to Charlie Reynolds, garden writer for the Lakeland Ledger, since 1973. We enjoy traveling and reading.
