Thomas A. Seybert

Thomas A. Seybert, PhD, PE, is Professor Emeritus of Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, Wilkes-Barre campus. He began his teaching career with Penn State in 1981, when he left a consulting engineering job for a teaching postion at the Beaver campus. There he taught engineering mechanics, engineering graphics and surveying. During this time he obtained his professional engineer's license. In 1987, he moved to the University Park campus where he taught surveying to civil engineers, while pursuing his PhD in surface runoff modeling. After graduation in 1996, he moved to the Wilkes-Barre campus where he taught surveying, stormwater managment and land development design to Surveying Engineering and Surveying Engineering Technology students. He retired from Penn State in 2014 after 31 years of service. Since 1984 he has been involved in the delivery of the annual Penn State continuing education short course titled "Computational Methods in Stormwater Management." Since 1991 he has delivered stormwater management workshops for the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors at their annual state conference. He remains actively involved in outreach activities related to stormwater management.
