Michael V. Susi

关于作者

Michael V. Susi is a native New Yorker, having grown up in the Homecrest neighborhood of Brooklyn. He has lived in the Morningside Heights, Washington Heights and Inwood neighborhoods of upper Manhattan since his college days at Columbia University. Michael graduated Columbia College magna cum laude in 1985 and pursued five years of graduate studies in social psychology at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. Since then he has been an administrator at Columbia University, working for the Office of the Vice President for Arts & Sciences and the Office of the Dean of Columbia College. Michael's first book in Arcadia Publishing's Postcards of America Series "Columbia University and Morningside Heights" was published in 2007. In 2009, he prepared "The Upper West Side" for the same series. It is accompanied by a set of 15 reproduction postcards. Michael has been collecting vintage postcards for twenty years and focuses primarily on Manhattan above 59th Street (on the west side), Brooklyn and the Bronx. His taste for nostalgia is also indulged in the music he listens to - vocals and band music from the turn of the century through the 1940s. Michael lives in Inwood, in upper Manhattan, in Art Deco splendor with his partner, Sean Sawyer, an architectural historian, whom he met in 1992. They have a teenage son.
