Aviel Roshwald is a Professor of History at Georgetown University, where he teaches courses on the comparative history of ethnic politics and nationalism in modern Europe, and on Europe and the world in the era of the two world wars. His most recent book is Occupied: European and Asian Responses to Axis Conquest, 1937-1945 (Cambridge University Press, 2023). He is also a co-editor (with Cathie Carmichael and Matthew d'Auria) of the two-volume Cambridge History of Nationhood and Nationalism (Cambridge University Press, 2023).
