John Andrew Gallery was born in Boston MA and graduated from Harvard College and the Harvard Graduate School of Design with a masters degree in architecture. He has lived most of his life in Philadelphia, with a long and distinguished career in city planning, community development and historic preservation. Since retiring from professional work in 2013, John has devoted himself to writing with a focus on spirituality and fiction. In addition to his previous books on architecture and city planning in Philadelphia, John has published numerous essays in the Quaker magazine, Friends Journal, and three collections of spiritual essays have been published as pamphlets by Pendle Hill Publications.
