My most recent book is about artificial islands, of all sorts, 'The Age of Islands' (titled 'Elsewhere in the USA and Canada). Apart from my travel books I write about the politics of nostalgia, racism and anti-racism around and 'occidentalism'. My forthcoming book is 'Multiracism: Rethinking Racism in Global Context'.
