John McCannon

John McCannon is professor of history at Southern New Hampshire University. He is a former editor of the Canadian Journal of History and has served as a consultant for the Discovery Channel, National Geographic TV, Buzzfeed, and Outside magazine. He writes about modern Russia, the Arctic, and the history of exploration. He is the author of "Red Arctic," "Nicholas Roerich: The Artist Who Would Be King," and "A History of the Arctic: Nature, Exploration, and Exploitation." For high school students, he also produces the Barron's AP World History: Modern study guide.
