Norman Tyler has been lead author on books on historic preservation, Greek Revival architecture, the history of transportation, city planning, the Peace Corps, and most recently, an extended narrative history of the family of immigrant Job Tyler over 15 generations. His book on historic preservation is used in programs across the country and is now in its 3rd edition. He has given many presentations at national, state, and local conferences. For more than fifty years Norm has been a community activist who ardently cares about making a difference. He has served on the board of numerous community and professional organizations at the local and state levels. Dr. Tyler has been recognized nationally as an urban planner and professor (emeritus) of urban planning, being inducted into the profession's College of Fellows. Norm lives with his spouse, Ilene, in a historic Greek Revival house in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His interests include traveling the world with Ilene and friends, visiting his family in California, playing piano, working on his model railroad, and of course authoring books.
