Pratibha Jain

Pratibha Jain, an author and translator, finds deep meaning in the human connection, reflected in her motto: "Whose food we eat, their song we sing." Her work, spanning over 25 books, celebrates the wisdom of seniors and spiritual masters. Her writing encompasses diverse subjects, from documenting traditional Indian recipes to spiritual discourses. She has compiled and translated multiple books for Gurudev Upadhyaya Praveen Rishi, a Jain monk, and continues to be deeply fascinated by his pragmatic, spiritual approach. Her two award-winning cookbooks, co-authored with Jigyasa Giri, showcase India's culinary heritage. "Cooking at Home with Pedatha" won the Best Vegetarian Cookbook in the World 2006, while "Sukham Ayu," exploring Ayurvedic principles, received second place for Best Health & Nutrition Cookbook in the World 2009. They have presented their work at many Indian and international forums like the London and Paris book fairs and Terra Madre, Italy. Pratibha was born in Chennai, India in 1965. She holds a Doctorate in Philosophy of Language from the University of Madras and was a Junior Research Fellowship recipient from ICPR, New Delhi.
