Natalie Schorr's two most recent books are Tune Up your French: The top ten ways to improve your spoken French, and the student edition of L'enfant noir, which she co-authored. By including the many ways of conveying meaning through gestures, sounds, and words, Tune Up your French and its CD show how to speak French in a way that sounds right. L'enfant noir, presents a positive perspective on Guinean traditions and family life. The student edition provides an introduction, notes, and a brief history of Guinée as well as exercises with answer keys. It serves as a good starting point for exploring francophone literature from Africa. As a French teacher at Phillips Academy on the Ammi Wright Lancashire Foundation, Schorr taught courses at all levels entirely in the target language. She received a diplôme d'études supérieures with honors from the University of Aix-Marseille and taught as a lectrice st L'Ecole Normale Supérieure de Fontenay-aux-Roses. As a graduate student, she did simultaneous translation for former French president François Mitterand during his visit to the United States.
