Dona Munker is the co-author of DAUGHTER OF PERSIA: A Woman's Journey from Her Father's Harem through the Islamic Revolution. Written from 2,000 pages of interviews with its subject, Sattareh Farman Farmaian, the book was a Book-of-the-Month Alternate Selection and has been translated into five foreign languages. An author and lecturer, Dona Munker lives in New York. She has a PhD in English, has taught at Hunter College and universities abroad, and was an editor at Little, Brown & Co. before turning to writing nonfiction full-time. She is a member of The Women Writing Women's Lives Seminar at CUNY, Biographer's International Organization, and the Authors Guild, and contributes regularly to the online newsletter "The Biographer's Craft."
