Michael Bloom is a widely produced American theatre director, writer, acting coach, and teacher. He was artistic director at Cleveland Play House and has directed at many of the country's major regional theatres including Seattle Rep, Berkeley Rep, ART, Huntington Theatre Company, Olney Theatre, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. He directed the premieres of Sight Unseen (South Coast Rep and Manhattan Theatre Club) and Dinner With Friends (Actors Theatre of Louisville). His productions have also been seen in Tokyo and throughout Japan. He has written for the New York Times, Plays Magazine, and American Theatre magazine. He headed the directing program at University of Texas, Austin. He has also taught at ART/Harvard University, NYU, and Scripps College. He currently resides in the DC area.
