Raised in Worthington, Ohio, Lisa started her career in publishing after graduating from The College of Wooster with a degree in Art History. Her first job was working as an assistant to Toni Mendez, a renowned Literary Agent in New York City. Lisa then realized her dream of working in children's books when she was hired the following year as a Marketing Associate at Orchard Books. Working directly for Norma Jean Sawicki and Dick Jackson, two giants in children's publishing, Lisa was able to learn all aspects of marketing. Since then, Lisa has worked for a number of children's publishers including Macmillan, Simon & Schuster, Little, Brown, Clarion Books, Scholastic, Random House and Disney. She is currently a writer and freelance publishing consultant. Lisa's debut picture book, Dear Tyrannosaurus Rex, was published by Random House Children's Books in July 2010. Inspired by her daughter, Eirann, this book tells the tale of a young girl who writes to her favorite dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus Rex. After living in NYC and Los Angeles for a number of years, Lisa moved back home to Columbus, Ohio with her husband Kevin (an actor, Associate Professor, and Director of The Ohio State University's Shakespeare and Autism Project) and their daughter Eirann. They soon welcomed their second child, Kavanagh. Lisa is also the author of over ten Eloise Ready-to-Read titles published by Aladdin Paperbacks and is currently working on a number of new projects.
