Hugo Slim is a British academic in International Relations who specialises in humanitarian studies and the ethics of war. He began his career as a frontline humanitarian worker for Save the Children and the United Nations and has served on the board of Oxfam GB and as an international adviser to the British Red Cross. He was Reader in International Humanitarianism at Oxford Brookes University from 1994 to 2003 and Chief Scholar at the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue in Geneva until 2007. He is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict at the University of Oxford.
